Does anyone have any good ideas for free or cheap adveritising, preferably online.
I already use google base, and I'm listed on pricegrabber and a few other comparison sites.
Hi David,
Concentrate on trying to improve rankings of your site in the organic search results. Get quality inbound links from others sites that have good rankings and sell simular products. Consider using software like IBP which will help improve your rankings/links.
A good way to get traffic to your website in the meantime is google adwords. Set yourself a daily limit and pick your keywords well. Consider intergrating Google Checkout as this makes your ads stand out from the crowd with the checkout badge.

Thanks for that Dave, I will try out the IBP software. I've already integrated Google checkout and used AdWords, but find adwords frustrating in that I choose loads of keywords, put bids in, then within 24 hrs they don't show up as it's not enough for the minimum bid. Often leaving me paying almost 50p per click. It's probably to do with my keywords I know, but I'm not sure what ones to choose. I am crap at that kinda thing :(
Let's see how IBP does for me :)

Hi David,
Is your Adwords use for internetoutfit.com or one of your other pies?
There are various tips I could pass on regarding Adwords but what I send depends on the site you're using it for.
Let me know and I'll drop you a pm with some quick tips.
Cheers,
Giles

Well it will be for InternetOutfit.com - but obviously if it brings some success I'll try and use it on my other site too. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I never did get the PM - are you still able to help in any way?
Hi Dave
Hadn't heard of IBP before, but plenty of sites are offering it, now I look.
It's quite hard to find a unbiased review site, as most links seem to be selling it. ($249)
If you've used it, you'd obviously be a reliable source of info.
Did it do the job for you and is it hard work to set up and get running with?
At that price it's be a much better bet than some of the snake-oil offerings I've had thrown at me when I last looked at paying for SEO.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
I have only dabbled with it and thought it was very good and not hard to use or setup. I know some web designers that swear by it and promote it on their websites as being a valuable tool in SEO.
Stopped using it when we switched from PC to Mac.
There should be a free trial on the IBP website.
