Our servers are located within the RapidSwitch network, running on the most advanced Cisco networking equipment available. Each of our servers has its own individual 100Mbps switch.

If you would like to test your connection to our server (and you're using a Windows-based PC) please launch:

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

The two commands to issue are:

ping server1.bluepark.co.uk
tracert server1.bluepark.co.ukIf you would like to inform us of your results, please send them (in either text or screenshot form) via email to:

support@bluepark.co.uk (support@bluepark.co.uk)

Displayed below is an example of how it should look:

http://www.bluepark.co.uk/user/uploads/trace.gif

The key numbers to observe are the ms (millisecond) readings. As you can see from the above, the ping average is 25 ms. A low reading such as this can be expected from within the UK.

The tracert (traceroute) command builds a path from your PC to the server itself. Don't worry about the 3 "Request timed out" messages immediately following the RapidSwitch hop, these are to be expected due to the security measures in place within the network. Once again, the key numbers are the ms readings.

Worthy of mention is the London Internet Exchange (LINX), which is where the majority of the UK's ISPs connect to each other and exchange traffic. Problems relating to LINX can directly affect users connecting to Bluepark servers, depending on which ISPs are attempting to connect. Packet loss and other unusual network activity can be monitored via the following page on the LINX site:
