View Full Version : Storing customer credit card details
Noting the requirement for ssl and payment processor is it possible to store customer card details on the site to enable a quick order a la amazon. the customer would therefore only need to add to basket, checkout, choose card and click confirm?
many thanks
PS love the software.
Hi
It does keep the customer data, all except the CV 3 digit code - maybe something to do with which browser or cookies? hope this helps

Hi Angella,
Your browser is actually filling in that data for you (there is an on/off setting for this in your browser). Bluepark does not keep the credit card data.
Paul is asking if Bluepark can store the data so that the customer can checkout without having to re-enter the card details.

Okay, this one really depends on which payment processor you're using. For example, if it's an off-site solution (no SSL needed) then the credit card details will be inputted on the 3rd-party site.
If you're using an on-site solution, with SSL, then the credit card data will indeed be saved on the server (excluding the security code, it is not permitted for any merchants to store this).
It is not, however, possible to have this auto-completed for returning customers yet. Needless to say, the data is stored highly encrypted on our servers, and we have a number of security standards we have to meet in this area. It may be an option for the future, but you may actually find that your customers are more comfortable with having to re-enter their credit card details.

some maybe, but the people i know (perhaps young, perhaps reckless) just want to buy as quickly as possible when returning to a site. there could be a tickbox option for the customer to allow the details to be saved and displayed on return?

are you simply saying the display of card info to returning customers is not a function which is written into the software (as yet). its just when you say "possible" im confused as to exactly what you mean

It's possible, in that this feature may be added in the future. There isn't currently a timescale for this feature integration.
