Can i just ask what the rules are about our contact details? i have phone number but not address, do we have to show our address somewhere on site by law?
Of course it is there for when a customer has bought but not before.

Yes, you do have to show your address by law on a website if it is an ecommerce site.

I think (though I would need to check to be absolutely certain) that you also have to show your registered address and co reg number if you are a limited company and if you are VAT registered you should also show your VAT number on the site. This is certainly the situation on all paperwork, and I think it also applies to the site.

In any event if you do put all this information on the site then you only increase your credibility with your customers.

Gill is correct in that if you are a limited company you must have your contact details, VAT number and company registration number.

Again I would agree with Gill on the credibility front too, before we put our address on the site we had a very interesting email chat with a person who wouldn't buy form us until he knew exactly where we were located!
