Inactive Items

Just noticed that making an item inactive doesn't stop it from being ordered. Is there a way of stopping an item from being ordered without deleting it? The only think I can think of is making it £0.00 and selecting the option to refuse orders for items with no price.

Hi David

You can set the stock level to zero. Then go into Config> Product>Action when no stock - and set this to - Display product but refuse orders.

If you then decide to sell again just add stock in the Products page.

I've thought about doing that, but if I add stock, customers will think I physically have it, but I use a dropshipper and rely on them most of the time, I ony carry stock when I need to. Thank-you for the suggestion though Mike.

This is not correct - inactive products can't be ordered, nor can the product pages be viewed.

Unless ... you're signed into the Admin Console, and viewing the site from there. You need to be able to view all products when you're building the site, for the purposes of Preview etc. :)

Ignore that, it's because I was using the same browser (another tab, but same browser)
