View Full Version : Just Going Live, What do you think?
Hi guys,
Our Site is just about finished, there are still some issues to sort, but generally we are there.
I know you lot have given good advice in the past and we have often used your wisdom to solve problems so I wonder now if you would take a look at the site and let me know your thoughts.
the link is <<<Click Here>>> (http://www.pricecutwarehouse.co.uk)
and one of the finished product pages is <<<Click Here>>> (http://www.pricecutwarehouse.co.uk/nursery/tomy-baby-sshh-bee-0m.html)
Many thanks
Wayne
I think it looks really good, my only concern about going live right now is the lack of products in many of the categories.
Also just noticed a few things:-
This category pulls up an error page, maybe you know, I just thought I'd point it out anyway - http://www.pricecutwarehouse.co.uk/boys-gift-and-gadgets.html
Strange table formatting in this product description - http://www.pricecutwarehouse.co.uk/nursery/tomy-aqua-fun-hippo-pedalo-age-12m.html
Hope that helps, those few bits aside, the site looks great.

and the second one, thats just about to be done, there will be a few more like that.
Ive automated the csv form so product up load will be quick now,
Thanks a million Icegems
Wayne :-)
None of the links work on the help pages.
Can't see any address on site - think this is req. legally.
Not sure about your T & C's - might be a good idea to get a proper set.
Free Reminder and Newsletter links don't work
About Us and Suppliers page just show products
Search engines can't read flash - put some text on the front page as well.
Oh and by the way that flash image is bigggggg.
Not ready to go live yet - you have a lot of work to do. - You did ask! Sorry.
Before I ever buy on-line I chech the "about us" etc for address & vat number, company details. I could not find those so you may want to loom into it from a legal side and as a confidence issue for potential customers.
In the help section I expected the >>headings to be links.
Just a couple of poinets for you but otherwise loaded up OK.
Thanks Neil,

I am grateful for your honest answers,
The address is to be added, this was not originally added due to relocation, the T &C should be OK though as we seeked legal advice on these first.
Free reminder and Newsletter links - Nice one, thanks
Other amendments will be sorted as well, the flash images will be adjusted accordingly, our systems are pretty quick, but I see what you mean.
Thanks very much for taking your time to help
Wayne
Thanks Bather

As above address etc to be added.
Good point on the help section we will add some links
Again many thanks for taking your time.

I think it would have been better to finish the site and get some product in the categories before going live, the first impression is very much a work in progress.

just had a quick scan round and one section i went to (power tools etc) was empty.
like others have said, it would be better to get all categories to have products even if its say 5 products still worth having them in there.
Cheers.

Thanks John and Adam,
Products are going live as we speak, but taking your point Adam of getting a small quantity of products in each category is a good idea and we will take that approach.
besides that did you find the layout worked ok and did it look ok on the eye?
cheers
Layout for me worked... got to the section within 4 clicks... the lower the amount of clicks the better :)
and when we went live we got the main categories done and live... and red flagged the categories that were either empty or low on stock, then as we built up over the first month we turned them on, we have more categories being worked on now, and when they are full we will turn them on. just means you can get it all sorted the just hit go :)

Or just hide the categories which have no products by red flagging them in the category manager.
True Dave, but even having just 5 products helps with sales... better to have something there than nothing at all :)
Hi John and Adam,
good advice there which we can do, I think some of the categories will be switched off and get some products into the other ones rather than focusing on one category at a time
cheers again
Wayne
