Hi

Has anyone tried using this tool? I've put the code for it on the latest site www.bikinisandswimsuits.co.uk (http://www.bikinisandswimsuits.co.uk) and it results in a Google image and menu above the header. I would rather it was on page from the point of view of design but wondered if anyone has tried it and tested whether it increases sales.

Thanks

Gill

Not actually answering your question, but as a related note, Google have just announce that Google Translator will be built into Chrome (the Google browser). You set your default language, and then whenever you visit an alternative language site you will be given the option to have google translate that page for you.

We don't offer anything like this on our site, but do notice visitors using google translator sometimes (via the logs), when they're looking for information. Can't say we've actually gained any sales for it though. Although for us for many of the countries we don't offer delivery to them anyway (eg China), so not sure how much this is a factor, or just they would end up buying from their local based shops anyway.

Where we have targeted another country / language, we actually went to the effort of setting up another website for that country, in their language.

Hiya Gillf,

I should have learnt not to just click on any of your websites by now , went all light headed again......... took me 10 minutes to get back to the forum.

One of my new dropshippers has used this and it quite good. I have checked the translation with our Dutch partners and my wife (she's a cloogy as well) and though it is a bit like a child's interpretation, it is good enough to let people understand and I have tried it revers way round with our Dutch site, it would be enough to encourage me to buy.

Jenni has managed to get it in her left column okay.... will try to give her a call in the morning to find out what she did, if you have not got it sorted by that time.
http://shop.homemattersmost.co.uk/ she has it in a block.

Hi Mike,

I had not thought of putting it into a block. I checked out the link to homemattersmost and it looks much better at the side like that. I'll do that tomorrow.

Hi Lewey

We have quite a lot of international business on the other sites and I am hoping that will be the same for this new site. And I have noticed through the logs that people are translating the lingerie sites. If I can make it look smart enough on the new site then I will probably put it on the others.

Thanks both Lewey and Mike for your input.

Bye for now
