Hi All

I am sure that I have done this before, but have spent most of the afternoon getting more and more confused, so please help me...

I want to send an email to prospective customers offering a discount on purchases made before Christmas, I've set up the discount manager and the necessary box appears in the 'shopping basket'. The problem that I have run up against is that we already offer an 'online' discounts to lure customers in, so when I set up the discount in the email it takes the discount off the already discounted price and not the list price (as I had hoped) so I disabled the 'display list price' and 'show saving' in the Configuration page. I decided that I didn't like the look of that - I like the idea of customers seeing they are getting a discount for ordering on-line.

I have looked at the 'pricing code' option in the 'Product Editor' and am now wondering if thats where I should be looking, but I cannot work out how to get this to work.

As I said I am a little confused and I hope my ramblings make enough sense for someone to point/shove me in the right direction.

Many Thanks

Colin

Not 100% sure I understand you issue, but if you look at my thread on Double Discounts, I wanted to stop discount coupons applying to my globally discounted prices. Seems you can't do that except by disabling the coupons, which I guess makes sense.

This is correct, all discount operations are applied to the real price, the selling price.

The "list" price field is an optional field, and the effect it creates is cosmetic (to show the saving the customer makes by purchasing from you). Any discounts you create are made against your selling price.
