I would like to email a couple of pdf catalogues to my BP Customer Database.

In the ideal world i could just attach as files in the email manager, but that can not be done, so any ideas anyone because i haven't a clue where to start.

Thanks.

Of course, i could host the pdf catalogue on my site and email everyone a download link!!

How stupid am I? Brain's gone fuzzy! Must get off this computer and go to bed!!

Export your customers email addresses and send from Outlook with attachment. Use BBC (blind copy) so as not to show the email addresses to everyone on the list.

However, people are a bit suspicious of email attachments these days so your idea just to email them the link might be better.

Hi Neil,
I've been considering setting up a pdf catalog for a while now.... just a bit daunted by the work it would involve. So I would be interested to know how good the results are from your plan.

Well my Garden Centre customers have been on pdf catalogues for 2 years now. We don't produce a paper one anymore for that side and its gone down very well.

I think most people realise that no paper catalogue = lower prices, so are quite happy with that.

I am going to try one for my autumn seed range, so will let you know, just would like to work out how i can tell how many downloads we have. Anybody?

Just a thought... but could you set the catalog up as a downloadable product FOC - that would then give you the stats (I think). Sorry I am frying my brain today with DHL as a shipping method. So if I have got this suggestion wrong please forgive.

I'm not sure if this is possible..... but could you not use say google analytics for this? presumably there would be a 'thank you for downloading our catalogue' page and just add a google conversion script to it.
