what would everyone recommend as a good starter course for web mastering?

Looked at CIW courses but wanted some feedback from people who may have done the courses or similar ones.

I don't think a course really matters. I certainly don't look for that in anyone.
If your company are asking for it then fair enough.
Think experience and a good grasp of how the internet and SEO marketing works is enough is what people look for.
