Had an order today for 12 proxeed and while this isn't unusal something about this one stuck out like a sore thumb.
Firstly a very nice chappy rings up from a London number wanting to order Proxeed - directed to website. Then he places an order for 12 (as I said not unusal) but when it comes to paying...........now that's where the fun began.
Paid with a brand new card expiry date 03/14, billing address Kansas USA and you guessed it wanted it shipping to Nigeria.
Ok I thought let's check out the Barclays and the payment. Payment went through absolutely fine, passed all checks...........but I have verified by visa set up so this little chappie had to sign up for it and guess what..........he failed on his date of birth!! Phewwww transaction void, order cancelled and no expensive for me!
It is one to watch out for...you see with VBV you have to enter card number, sort code, CV2 number and your date of birth - date of birth being the tripping point of fraud. If you have a suspect payment check out whether they were forced to sign up and if they failed there is a good chance that the card has either been stolen or cloned.
Anyway, sorry to go - just thought I would let you know. This could of cost me the cost of the goods, postage and then over £400 in chargeback!
