I have two csv files one from my supplier one generated by Bluepark. Is it possible to writea batch/programme or whatever its called to automatically get data from one and place in the other.

Supplier cd has over 19000 sku's I only currently use about 3000 so just wondering if it possible to pull only the skus from my bluepark csv and update details from the supplier csv.

Is this even do-able ?

I think you could use the 'V lookup' function but I think you would need to have the data on 2 sheets in one workbook. Your's on sheet one and suppliers on sheet 2, use V lookup or H lookup on the second sheet - my other half uses it to create order forms and it works a treat although I couldn't tell you how to work it myself.

Hi,

What are you wanting to do with the Bluepark csv file when it has been updated from your suppliers csv file? I am assuming you want to update your website?

We use the data scheduling option in Bluepark (not available in Retail Park) to automatically run a product data import and pickup a csv file from our suppliers website on an hourly basis. It then updates our website with the stock levels, cost price and generates the sales price based on the cost price plus a profit margin percentage. If you are on Retail Park you can still do this by running an import product data routine manually.

As long as your suppliers csv has an sku that matches the sku you are using on your Bluepark site you can import as much or as little data as you want by creating a product data import and mapping the data from the csv file to Bluepark. It doesn't matter that the suppliers file has 19000 sku's as it will only update sku's it can find on your website.

Always make sure you backup by doing a full data export before playing around with importing data if you are not sure what you are doing.

If I have misunderstood what you are trying to do then let us know.

Brilliant....Thats sounds just like what I need Dave....many thanks. I was worried that my Bluepark site would be filled with thousands of SKU's that I do not use so was looking for the more complicated way of getting them out of my suppliersdata file first.

All in all chub is a happy bunny :-)
