hi, my site is in beta. i have selcected protx vsp direct and simulation mode. on placing an order i cannot complete payment as bluepark tells me:

Unfortunately your purchase has not been successfully approved. No payment has been made.
VSP Simulator cannot find your vendor name in its database. The simulator saw the Vendor Name 'vendorname'.
If you wish, you may attempt to place this order again.

what should i enter into the backend for 'vendorname'?

ive got a feeling this might be an obvious one!:o

The Vendor name is your Protx vendor name, when you created your Protx Account you will have chosen a vendor name, you need to put this in to the bulepark Protx VSP Direct section. Hope this helps.

hi spondie, thanks for your reply. however that was the name i used. i currently use vsp server so perhaps thats why it didnt work. am i right in thinking that the simulation is actually looking in the protx database? if so, how is vsp direct in test mode different to simulation mode?

You're probably using the correct Vendor Name, but you maybe don't have a Simulator account. Each of Protx's modes have separate accounts associated with them. Here are the 3 login pages:

Simulator: https://ukvpstest.protx.com/VSPSimulator/
Test: https://ukvpstest.protx.com/vspadmin/
Live: https://ukvps.protx.com/vspadmin/There are some subtle differences between Simulation and Test modes, but either will be adequate to test your settings.

I now have a protx simulator account. I need to populate the settings within the account which include operating sytem, script language, ip address, etc. Can you provide a link to where we can find these settings.

Many thanks
Paul.

I’m afraid Protx haven’t updated their list of supported systems for a very long time. Here are the settings you'll need:

Custom Integration: Tick
Shared Servers: ISP-Hosted
Operating System: Linux
Scripting Language: PHP

The process will later ask you to add an IP address to your account, these are the settings you'll need:

IP Address: 83.142.229.106
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

You'll also be required to specify whether you want to use VSP Server (for which you won't need an SSL certificate) or VSP Direct (for which you will):

Thanks, a simulated transaction now works.

Just to add some information, there was no option to Tick a customs integration nor was i asked if i used shared servers. I was however asked to enter the home page url. I entered our beta test site homepage. Not sure if it would have returned an error if i entered our domain to which the bluepark site will eventually sit but you can amend any settings on the test/live site.

Ah, they've obviously changed some fields since I last viewed their signup routine. They didn't previously require a domain name, only an IP address to accept connections from. I'd be interested to hear any feedback as to what the domain is for (and what it affects).
