Special User Discounts

Hello

Wonder if anyone can help with a solution to the following.

I have a client I wish to offer special prices to on around 100 of our products, I also want to offer that client different shipping rates for those products. When the client purchases a product it must also come off the main site inventory (so as to ensure our stock levels are correct across the whole store)

I have looked at a few ideas in both the discount manager and user preferences but don't see a way to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

i think the discounts on products for a customer is possible using product pricing codes and discount voucher.

as for then also giving a different shipping rate for those products just for that customer sounds tricky. could you not incorporate this into a higher discount? not sure if this would have the same effect as not sure how your shipping currently works.

i know the thinking behind wanting to offer customer shipping deals - from the customer viewpoint they always think theyre getting something for nothing- but really a discount on the product price has the same effect.

Discounts are OK, as Paul said, but I don't believe that you can give specific delivery discounts.

Unless...I know you can now do shipping rates by Postcode (see thread http://www.bluepark.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=171). I haven't tried this out yet, but maybe this could give you what you want?

You can do this in a couple of different ways. Go to the User Editor for the user in question and consider both the Discounts and Pricing Exceptions tabs. You can assign inactive (i.e. not open to everyone) discounts to the user, or you can individually price specific products. These will be available exclusively to the user.


I also want to offer that client different shipping rates for those products.

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

Thanks for you help guys, i have set up Pricing Exceptions for this cleint which seams the best way forward.
