View Full Version : Christmas
Is it too soon to list Christmas stock, it has all arrived here and photos are done, just dont wonder will customers think its last years leftovers, i usually leave till last minute but first year ever im prepared
Wow Carol you are well prepared! Personally I think its probably a tad too early to start selling Christmas stuff and I would wait until the summer holidays are over and perhaps start selling mid to end September? Also perhaps have a block or a something in the header which says "Christmas 2011 Stock Now Available" or something like that which will give shoppers confidence you are not selling last years stock and may also jog peoples memory to start buying for Christmas.
Ooh good idea, thanks Dave, guess i could list it and red flag or something. Yep feeling pretty motivated at the moment - will it last?

I was in Tesco last week and saw a pallet of selection boxes hiding in the stockroom. Made me shudder, we were only 1/3 way through the summer holidays! They'll probably be out on the shelves this week as they were clearing all the summer stuff away to make room for something.

Our container of artificial christmas trees arrived last week. Christmas lights, cards, decorations all being delivered over next three weeks. I've yet to have a summer holiday yet. Its all Christmas changeover when I return however! Sorry!

Christmas. I am done already for Xmas. Just for got main pressies from 'Santa' to get and that is it for me. All ready to be wrapped and waiting for the kids to change thier minds about what they like. :D
For me the sales come after Xmas, women will wait and see if they get anything and then when they don't come and buy over the Xmas break. Xmas day and boxing day is usually quite busy for me.
however, I read an article a few weeks ago that places like Selfridges & Harrods have already opened up a small concession for Xmas items in their stores to capitalise on holiday makers shopping in the UK who want to pick up those more traditional decorations etc. they normally do so in August but this year did this earlier. obviously in my market it's too early to set up a plun Xmas page but I'm sure some of you guys might benefit from offering a small selection.
also, (and I may be wrong entirely here!!) it might help from a SEO point of view - if you can get some product online and then start gearing those pages towards Xmas traffic, would that not help you as we get closer to Xmas when contending with the big boys? as I said I may be completely wrong there - I'm still trying to learn about SEO and optimise my own site lol!!
Yes this is what i was thinking, get the products found in Google as soon as possible, im still waiting on some stock though so will be another couple of weeks in any case.
