We got caught out a few weeks ago and sent an order to Sweden - ended up that the card was stolen and chargeback done.
We have had the same address (different names, cards and email addresses) place more orders on the site.
Is there any chance of getting the police or anyone interested?
This is obviously quite a big set up - they have cards from a number of countries and identities, not a one off.
Mostly I am cross with myself as it was obvious that it wasn't legit - just in the summer holiday/new baby fog and didn't pick up on it but if I could get them a visit from the local police, it would be great.

Sorry to hear about this. Having had a couple of fraudulent orders myself in the past I know how annoying and frustrating this can be.Our fraudulent orders have always been in the UK and only once have we been successful in getting a chargeback reversed. But more importantly never have the police done anything about them despite us passing all the relevant information on. At the end of the day the police unfortunately have bigger things to do!I think you should still report it but personally I wouldn't hold out much hope of anything actually being done.

I agree that I don't think the police would be interested but no harm in trying.
A bit of a different case, but a few years ago, one of our own business cards (HSBC Maestro) was used fraudulenty on Tesco.com to buy over £600 worth of stuff (electricals). While trying to work out what had happened, I contacted Tesco who were quite helpful and were positive that whoever had used the card, must have had access to all the details on the card plus the billing address and agreed that the stated delivery address was very different to the billing address. The only time the card had left my posession was when staying in a hotel and paying for dinner (back in the days when they'd take the card to the till and bring you back the receipt to sign, before chip and pin) so I think it was likely that the staff swiped it / copied the information then.
The police weren't interested in the slightest even though whoever had done it would have been quite easy to catch as they had all the stuff delivered to their house. HSBC refunded in full and confirmed it was proven to be a fraudulent transaction but wouldn't reveal any details to protect the identity of the fraudster. There were actually more transactions on the card associated with the same fraudster - apparently quite common as they "test" it first before making their big purchase. A couple of under £5 transactions for various online services (domain registrations, vistaprint, web hosting companies etc), that didn't get picked up as a lot of the companies we used for those kind of things trade under a different name to what's on the statement anyway.
I think it's terrible that card fraud is so easy to get away with. If the person concerned had walked into a high street shop and nicked £100s worth of stuff they'd be in jail. But because they did it online it's ok??!!
I had a card cloned in a hotel too - one in Canada - it had to be the hotel as the card was only used to secure and pay for the hotel and we had to give them a swipe. Whoever used it, used it in America when we were very much back over here, it was a nightmare to sort out.
We had a card cloned at a BP service station and the hassle and stress that created has unbeliveable.
Can this now happen with 3D secure? Has anyone had a 3D secure transaction charged back?

With 3d secure you cannot get a chargeback for European orders. American, African and Asian orders may not be covered.
