Marketing using flyers

I was thinking of including flyers with all orders that are despatched as free advertising. Does anybody use flyers for marketing and if so what is the best paper to use to create your own flyers and how effective is it?

Hi

We use a lot of flyers. We mainly send them out to schools & nurseries etc and our local shopping centre lets us put leaflets in there too. Also companies like Debenhams who we do balloon decoration work for also give out our flyers. On these flyers we always offer some kind of promotion (i.e. x% off in our shop etc) so we have some kind of measure to work on.

We do include a couple of flyers with each order for the customer to give to family and friends although we haven't put any promotional codes on these so I don't know how effective this is.

We have printed our own but mainly use www.printing.com (http://www.printing.com) to print them for us.

When we do our own we just use high quality paper (160gsm) as our printer doesn't like anything too thick!

I am using 130 g gloss A5 two sides.

Check them, I have been using them for few years nad the quality is very good, and despatch is within few days. They are also very helpul on the phone.

Thanks guys, I'll have a look into it as i think I may be able to generate more business from using flyers.

Thanks for the pointer. They are a lot cheaper than our existing supplier so have just placed an order with them for 5,000 A5 Leaflets to try them out!
