View Full Version : Interparcel - DHL no longer an option

Have just gone to book another parcel to Europe via Interparcel, where most often the DHL service has been the best / equal cheapest. But this time it was not even an option, and looking on their news they (Interparcel) announce today that DHL services will no longer be offered due to a global decision by DHL to no longer offer their services through online booking agent types (the likes of Interparcel). This severely reduces options.

Had a quick look at parcelmonkey as an alternative, and although they did still offer a DHL service as an option it was rediculously priced (£80 for a parcel that normally has always only cost around £17-£18, and can still get through Interparcel with other courier for £17).

My questions are: has anyone also seen this and can confirm it is a DHL global decision - rather than only affecting Interparcel, and hence if there are other online booking agent options that can show a good range of options across the good couriers.

And, has anyone had experience in setting up a direct account with DHL, and how competitive is their direct account pricing?
(when have previously got quotes from the DHL website, they have been significantly greater than the same DHL service booked through Interparcel).

Had liked using Interparcel as was able to compare a few different courier companies, and depending on parcel size and weight, could easily choose best option, but no longer having DHL cuts out what was a good service option (cost and performance). So are needing to suddenly reassess our options for the new year.

Any feedback appreciated.

We use Parcels2go they have removed DHL, they were handy for some European stufff, (But poor on the rest!) what about ParcelForce Euro, they work well in some Euro countries.

We use World Parcel Service and it looks like they have removed DHL which was an option we usually selected.

Looks like DPD and TNT are their main ones now.

Thanks for the comments. At least confirms that is a DHL decision that affects all online agents, and wasn't just something to do with Interparcel.

It is really for larger European parcels (to trade customers) that we use it for, and the DHL service and network was good for this, may have to see what they will offer as a direct account, whether will still be worth having them as an option or not.

Do prefer having a few options to choose from.
