Morning

Normally we only have 1 shipping list (A) but have recently moved into selling heavier items. I want these to only have a specific method of shipping so I set up list B. That is fine.

But if a buyer purchases something from both shipping lists the shopping cart losses the narrative of the shipping method. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

From what I can see, your shipping methods are all set to either Shipping Code "A" or "B". Therefore, if you add both "A" and "B" products to your basket, none of your shipping methods can be used. The "A" shipping method can't be used because it can't ship the "B" product, and vice versa.

The solution is to set the "B" shipping methods to "Any" instead, meaning that "A" products can use all shipping methods (both "A" and "Any"). But the presence of a "B" product will reduce the list to include just the "Any" shipping methods.

I hope that makes sense!

I too are working on a site which is to deliver products which vary from small packets to 2-man delivery items to items where shipping is included (complicated I know!). I am look at how this can be acheived and have come across the same problem when combining products from different lists.

It would help greatly if a shipping method could have an inclusion list. i.e. ticking the letters A-Z to which this method would apply. Difficult to get over here but there are situations where a 'catch all' shipping method is not suitable at all for a certain product so does not want to be selected.

Perhaps we should not have such a complex product list?

Having thought about it some more - it could be more useful for a shipping method to have a maximum weight/value limit!?

I agree that this would be a useful feature.
