Is there a special add-on or an application, possibly web based, that I could use to co-browse websites with my friend? So that I could see the contents of my friends screen, when he's surfing the web.

Take a look at www.logmein.co.uk (http://www.logmein.co.uk). This is a web-based remote access software. Its free so long as all you need is remote access - you pay for file transfers and so on.

Firefox does an add-on for its browser and this could be just what you are looking for

Hi! A VNC software like RealVNC (http://www.realvnc.com/) might suit your needs. If it's too heavy or complicated, then try something easier and web based, like the Screen2.com (http://www.screen2.com/).

Hi,

This may be too simplistic but you could use the Microsoft Instant Messaging to view and share applications. We use it all the time if I want to look at our accounts system but am in a different office, or if I need technical support. The really smart thing is that you can get permission to share control of the PC you are viewing, so if the user gives you permission you can take control of the mouse etc.

The best thing...its free....

web based program called Go To Meeting - very good, allows both of you to control.
