Inventory management software

We are starting to look into bar coding and inventory management systems. And would be interested in any recommendations, experiences etc.

Hi Gill,

We have a shop and a website and looked deep and hard at inventory management systems. I dont know the size of your operation but we just could not find something that would manage EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) and inventory and website etc without spending a huge amount of money. Even then they take a lot of work to set up.

In the end we wrote our own EPOS system based on Access for the shop, we bought a barcode scanner and integrated it. Actually it was very straight forward and we print our own bar code labels for all of our products now.

Alternatively my husbund works for a company which is a Microsoft Gold Partner and they have a product called Great Plains which basically does all your accounts, inventory and can be integrated to bar coding.
