View Full Version : Traffic down by about 30% ?
Hi
Can anyone please help me understand what is happening. For several months the level of traffic has been dropping. Fortunately sales are still ok, so there is an argument that I am only losing non quality traffic, but as the pattern is still on a downward path for the 3rd consecutive month I am beginning to worry. My Google rankings are as good as before this happened, so I can only conclude that either there are less window shoppers about or Google has made a change to the way it shows the search results.
Can any one shed some light on this please.
Thanks
Gill
I think it is a sign of the times, the bad news every day is gradually reducing the number of people that can be bothered to look at products, let alone buy.
Our sales are still increasing but on a reducing gain, up to end August we were showing a 70% increase over last year and this is now down to 35%.
With your products it could be that the usual empty visits from Google images are down as they've all looked and gone on to new discoveries!
This Christmas season is going to be very interesting and harder than ever but we've weathered a lot worse when the IMF were called in to save the country from bankruptcy and we're still here.
There's also the point that the house price falls is reducing the affair/divorce figures and if affairs go down the demand for nice new underwear goes down, sad but true.:(
Hi John
And thanks for your reply. I think you could be right. What made me post was the possibility that I had missed some change on Google and the way it serves traffic. I am not sure which would be easier to survive - a downturn in the economy or a Google change! But sales are holding up, so I have just got to hold my nerve.
Perhaps I should bring in a range of low cost utility underwear ;) Only joking!
Thanks again

As it looks like our best selling product for Christmas is going to be a blanket http://www.prezziesplus.co.uk/design-led/the-slanket.html perhaps thermal underwear would be a hot seller!
