I've been trying out the 'buy one get...' in the discount manager, but am not getting the results I expect. I've assigned a product for 'buy one get one free' and added a coupon code. In the products tab I have assigned the product that the customer will receive free, and flagged the option to add to basket.

When I go into my site and add the promotional product, enter the promotional code and the 'free' product is added to the basket and the price is amended. The problem is that the Quantity box is showing '2' when it should be 1.

I am convinced that I am missing something, but cannot work out what. Any help would be appreciated

It wasn't displaying the totals correctly, this is now fixed. Please try it again.

It is correct for the quantity field to read "2" for BOGOF discounts, however - if you add 1 unit, and it's BOGOF, then another is automatically added to make a quantity of 2. If it's a BOGOF offer, nobody would ever want an "odd" number of products, so the free one is added automatically.

Is it possible to offer 'buy one get one free' but to offer an alternative product that the buyer gets free?
