Hi - my website sells air & garage tools and as such I need to descibe the products sizes, many of which still use inches.

For keyword optimisation is it best to use the word inch or a speech mark (as in 1/2" air tool).

If I use one speech mark to denote the word inch in my meta keyword will the search engines think that the meta tag finishes when it reach the speech marks even though there are more keys words after the speech mark. Is there a standard pratice for this?

I hope that i've expalined this ok - first time on such a forum.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the Forum

I would not use the word inch as very few people will key this into search engines. You can use " without any problems in your meta-tags. Each keyword/phrase should end with a comma

Good luck with your site

Hi Paul,

Also, Beware of using the Speech mark in the long and short descriptions as it often cuts off any text after it, especially when showing a Zoom image.

Best of Luck
