Notify me when this item is available not working?

I have been testing the link that a customer can use to request information on an out of stock item (Notify me when this item is available), and it does not appear to be sending an email to us to tell us someone has taken requested this information.

Is there a setting I've missed - is this working for other users?

This feature works by sending an email to the customer when the item in question comes back into stock. As the shop owner, you don't receive an email. You can view the number of outstanding notifications, ranked by item, via Sales Statistics.

Is there any way of revealing the email addresses of those people who have requested to be notified? We have some items that have to be specially ordered, and will never come back into stock as such. We would like to be able to contact these customers to discuss placing a special order.

Update: I've just realised that by clicking on the number of notifications, the addresses are revealed, so please ignore my question...
