Hi,

I am looking at building more incoming links to our website and notice that in Google Webmaster Tools
a) there is many links from the Bluepark forum (approx 70 at the last count)
b) despite having links from a number of Bluepark sites these to do appear

Was wondering if the number of links from the Bluepark Forum will cause any problems with how Google would rank our site? All of us with website url in our signatures will presumably have the same problem.

Also could it be ignoring the links the other Bluepark Sites because we are on shared servers?

Hi Dave

Your point b) is a bit garbled, but I assume you are saying these links are not showing? My understanding is that the links are domain related, and should not be affected by shared servers (though what do I know?). It can take an age for Google to pick up links, maybe it is a timing issue?

As far as the number of links from Bluepark affecting rankings, I can't believe we will be penalised by this, but if someone knows better...?

So no help whatsover in my reply, really. Sorry, I'm going to soak my head (full of cold).

Regards

Pete

Hi Pete,

Yes sorry it appears I missed the vital word being NOT from my post. Can't amend it now as the edit button is no longer showing. Will read my post next time before submitting it!

Thanks for your reply and hope the cold gets better.

That's next, as soon as my head soaking has finished.

Hi

I don't think the incoming links from the forum will result in a penalty.... but they also won't have much value for SEO. However, they are there and some of the forum visitors might follow them... so you never know, might result in business.

Cheers

Incoming links are usually effected by the IP range of the servers the website lives on so from an SEO point of view there could be little value in the links.

As Gill says though you may get business from people following the links.
