Is any body else using the Apple mobileme service in conjuction with Blue Park?
I'm testing it out and although I can forward my BP e-mails into mobileme it is difficult to use mobile me to send so it looks like e-mail comes from the BP address. Has any body cracked this? Apple support got their knickers in a right twist about port numbers.
With so many underwear suppliers using BP are there twist-free knickers available for Apple support?:p

I'm a complete e-commerce virgin, and I'm learning as I go. I've contacted several of my suppliers and discussed my website plans and I'm pleasantly surprised by their assistance.

As a result I've got lots of images for the products I'm listing, but many of them are very poor when viewed on the website. Does anyone have advice on simple and straightforward way to clean and sharpen them up without getting all 'photoshop'-ey?

The emphasis is on the word 'simple'. And 'straightforward'. Also 'quick'...

I'm very aware that so far my participation on this forum is all questions and no input. I'm looking forward to the day when I'm experienced and confident enough with this system that I can actually provide some answers myself.

In the meantime, may I ask another question?

How do you manage stock levels between online and offline stores? I have an Epos and stock control system to manage the stock levels in my regular shop, but it's obviously not linked to my (soon-to-be-live) online shop. I'm having nightmares trying to figure out how to stay on top of stock figures.

Presumably it's easier if one shop is in control of stock numbers and the other manually updated. But how? And when? After each sale? At the end of each day?

Implications of transferring domain names?

I currently have a free website with Free Virtual Servers which is just a place-holder for my domain name until I'm ready to transfer the site to Bluepark (not ready to do this yet). They are now asking me to transfer my domain to them or they will close down my current site (the domain is still with the company I registered the name originally).

As I don't fully understand the implications of this domain change, I was looking for some advice:

- transfer to FVS for now, then to BP later?
- just let the FVS site go, and transfer to BP when ready. If I do this, I lose any links to the site name, and presumably the history of the site being in existence?
- some other option...

I would be really interested to hear any thoughts on using a .co or a .co.uk domain name.

I've recently bought both. I grabbed the .co domain because I thought it short and simple and, well, a bit different. I grabbed the .co.uk at the same time just because it was available and to stop anyone else taking it. I'm now in a quandry as to whether I should set up my new company on the short, simple and 'a bit different' .co domain, or whether to be safe and use the .co.uk.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the subject? .co is the Top Level Domain for Columbia, will this have any impact on SEO for me - a UK based company?

I don't know what to do for the best. :(

We have put in many claims with Royal Mail over the years for lost parcels, and usually have no problems with getting compensated. However for the last batch that was sent off, we had the letters, which have usually just been letters confirming that they received the claims, so I just put them aside without paying much attention. However, I checked them again the other day when I realised that we still hadnt received the cheques, and realised that these ones do actually read that they had tried to contact the customers for confirmation of failed delivery, but hadn't heard anything back, so were advising us to contact them. They said that if they didn't hear back from us within 10 days, they would assume that delivery had been completed. Doh!

So now Im wondering, what do other people do when the customers dont respond to the RM requests for confirmation- as if they dont respond then obviously we dont get compensated so lose out....?
