    Question Sage Pay Moto Integration

Hi, I'm new to BluePark (currently with Roman Cart and considering coming over)

One question, I see there has been lots of discussion about MOTO orders and how they are not supported through BP. But I have also see the "Have MOTO Account" option on Sage Pay Direct tab in configuration which seems to suggest that orders taken through the Remote Control feature are flagged as MOTO when sent to Sage Pay and hence will use our MOTO merchant number with Streamline etc. This is what we want.

Can someone confirm that these Remote control orders are distinguished from on-line orders?
Can we set up a new customer on the phone and do the order by remote control?

    Thanks, in advance, Ashley.

This is exactly as it's designed to work. MOTO should work as follows:

    • Go to the User Manager and create a new user
    • Take their personal details over the phone, tick the box to create a password automatically
    • Save the user and an optional email will be sent to the customer with their account details
    • Click on the Remote Control icon and add the required items to the basket
    • Click Checkout and click through their personal details (or enter an optional delivery address)
    • Take their payment details and submit them
Orders taken using this method will have an "Order Person" listed in the Order Processor. Also, if you use Sage Pay and you've indicated that you have a MOTO account, the order will have been charged to the relevant account.

Rich has explained all but just to add that we use this feature and it's very handy and perfectly "legit" with Sagepay and our Merchant Provider (providing you have a MOTO account!)

That's absolutely fantastic thanks. A couple of points.

    1. Would there be any way of having a Hot button which puts us into Remote Control mode (giving the MOTO settings) and then creating the account during the check out process
    2. Does (or can) the system store users without an email address - (we have a lot of 'traditional' customers).
    3. Any chance of having that 'disable 3D secure' pre-checked when in Remote Control mode - I'm sure our staff would forget to check it.

    Great system by the way.

    1. Don't think so but check with Rich

    2. No but you can always make it up. For example, we use a system (based on our domain name) whereby if a customer doesn't have or doesn't want to give us an email address, we assign them to a generic offlinecustomer@ourdomain.co.uk. You then update the user account with the "new" person's address info before clicking into remote control. If that customer later sets up an account of their own, you can now transfer individual orders to their account so we remove their order from the offlinecustomer account and put it in their own account if they ask.

    3. Again not sure - ask Rich. Never been a problem for us.

I just did a walk through on how our sales people might do this and the best way seems to be:

    1. Add User
    2. enter any email address
    3. check box for automatic password
    4. save
    5. Remote Control
    6. then select products etc, check out enter address info. (Interestingly at this point it seems you can overt-type the email address with no problem) and complete payment

My point is that it would be really good to have a single button to do points 1-5 in an instant so you are onto the site straight away to take the order. System would generate sequential user ID which could look like an email address or not (but this could be over typed at check out)

It seems the functionality is already there for a MOTO facility just needs joining up.
