    Default Keyword stuffing

I was reading another topic on here this morning that mentioned keyword stuffing. I have a feeling I might have got carried away with my homemade SEO when I made my BP shop. I am worried I might be seen to be keyword stuffing in certain products and categories. Is there a general rule or free tool I can use please to see if I have keyword stuffed? Thanks.

You'll probably get many different answers, but the tool I was using on SEOMoz recommended at-least 4 and a maximum of 14 instances of a keyword(s) in a single page. Which may be a good place to start.

For my product pages it was including instances of the keyword(s) in the product title, main body (including all tabs), footer and related products. Seemed to be pretty much all visible instances of the keyword on the page.

This tool didn't include Title Tags or Meta Description in the 4-14.

Someone with more expertise in this matter may come along with more information...

I have read a few articles on "Maximum Keyword Density Percentage" and there isn't such a rule that Google follows, I think the best way is to read the content, does the keyword seem to be cropping up to often? does it sound spamy? if so it probably is!

There are some guides to the amount of keywords you should use per page or per percent of content but its not fact! That's how I understand it anyway

I would still recommend using a keyword density tool to help you visual see if you have underdone or overdone the content with a keyword, then read the content, if it doesn't sound stuffy or spamy then you should be fine. Also the keyword density tool can be good for checking pages that might have slipped in ranking as it might indicate the use of a keyword to many times, i.e. users leaving products reviews can sometimes lead to over keyword usage.

Hope this helps & it is just my opinion others may well have a different view on it

Thank you so very much guys. I'll do a mix of those ideas.... try to keep key words/phrases to between 4-14 and read it through to make sure it doesn't sound spammy Thank you.
