Default I like the new youtube video feature

The new youtube video feature is excellent. Well done Bluepark.

example of the video in action for those who want to see. Click the 'watch video' link next to the zoom link under the main image.

I have yet to decide on this, personally i think the video link is too small.

Rich is there anyway of using a code to activate this from an image in the main content? That way i can have a nice big image for people to click on.
    Regards

    Neil.

I agree, you need a dirty great big image with a play button on it.

Absolutely, there's a variable for this on the Custom HTML tab of the Template Editor, including one for just the link value. The HTML for this feature is literally a link with rel="lightbox", it couldn't be simpler.

That's brilliant, I was thinking yesterday how I could get the language manager to display an image for 'play video' so this has saved me some work.

To make it easier, here's an example for the Template Editor: Custom HTML tab, Product Detail field:

    Code:
    [IF product_video]<a href="%product_video_link" rel="lightbox">TEXT OR IMAGE HERE</a>[/IF]
Replace TEXT OR IMAGE HERE with an image of your choice, and place this code wherever you want the image to appear. It won't appear unless the product has a video assigned (that's what the IF is for).

I added the new feature but I had always had video clips on my pages anyway and have left them there too e.g. http://www.dfordog.co.uk/thundershir...iety-vest.html

I tried the new YouTube link on an ipad and it showed it with a play icon in the centre - when pressed it simply closed the window. The same YouTube video links in our content plays without a hitch. Any ideas?

I've got a video I would like to include with a product, have people got some examples of how they have implemented this, inside tabs too?
Would be nice to see some examples!
    Thanks

Thanks, just tried that as a quick test with the "embed" code and seems nice and easy.
Any other bright ideas / examples out there on using videos in the products?

We are lucky as video is great for us. Great dressing up opportunities abound!
