Site finally launched any comments welcome (good or bad)

Hi my site is finally up and running. I would appreciate any comments whether good or bad. I am just using a template at the moment until I can afford something flashier.

Clean looking site, I wouldn't have such large "short descriptions" on your products as it makes everything else out of proportion."

2. Try and make your pages so the buyer does not have to scroll up and down, Take some of the centre blocks away.
3. On the contact us page put your address and phone number it will give the buy a more confidence to buy.
4. Personally i would make the page a bit wider but keep it fixed width.

Thanks for your comments, I have added my address and phone number to the contact us page and removed some blocks from the centre. Still have to scroll up and down though. How do i make the page a little wider, cant see an option anywhere?

Template editor , Site tab , Fixed width Value , i have mine set as 1100px , But i am sure some one with more knowledge will tell you have done it wrong .

Done! there are a few descriptions like that left over from the import from my old site.

If you get time I would suggest changing the product order in the categories to a custom order. Looking at the Epson Stylus SX515W category ('cos that's the printer I have at home ) - at the moment it looks like they're in alphabetical order but as a customer I would find it more useful to have all the single/high capacity cartridges together and the various multipacks together etc.

You might want to look at using 'Attributes' in the future too so you can use the 'refine results' block which can help customers from being overwhelmed in the face of so much choice

I only stocked up last week so I have booked marked your site,

Title banner, I would either make it wider (you can have your tel number and contact details there) or have the background colour match the background of the page, otherwise I found it easy to navigate to my printer cartridges, and that's the main thing, able to find what you want.

The thing I find curious is that the company has been operating since 2004 and yet still not reached the VAT threshold for registration, at least that is what 'No VAT to pay' suggests to me.

I will take a more detailed look at your site when I get time bit just a couple of things.

1. You could do with a more professional looking header and graphics.
2. Have you submitted your sitemap.xml to Google via the Webmaster Tools?
3. Have you submitted your products to Googlebase (Merchant Centre) ?
4. You need to wrok on your meta descriptions for your products. Many just say

I didnt even realise that it was a different colour as it looks the same on my pc, had a look on a laptop last night and sure enough it's different, i will get that sorted.

Yes we have been trading since 2004 purely as a website business, and have never had any money behind us to really get ranking high in the search engines. We were finally looking good earlier this year and were looking at having to register for VAT and then we were hit by Google panda updates and my site has dropped like a stone. Trying to rebuild it again now.

But in answer to your question, we have been trading since 2004 and we should be vat registered by now ! My wife keeps telling me to get a real job! You sound just like her, your real names not Tracy is it?

I am registered for webmaster tools and have just submitted a google feed, but it has come back with loads of errors

Googlebase is free. I always try to discourage people from spending money as much as possible.

The classic one can be fixed in Data Feeds / Settings (underneath the file name) / Use Quoted Fileds - YES

Put "Autodetect" for the other 3 settings on that page.
