    Default Google Products

    Hi everyone,

I have a feed set up for Google Products. I was wondering how I can see the products displayed as a user would see them in Google?
I have put a search term into Google for one of the products I sell and checked the first few pages of the search results. I didn't see the result for my website. I'm slightly concerned that others aren't seeing it either.
    Any advice/tips please?

    Thanks,

    Col.

Google selects 3 products to show with the organic search results. If your product isn't showing there then no one will see it (for that particular search term). The top 3 may change over time, however.

To see Google Shopping you need to select "More" from the toolbar at the top of the Google page and then "Shopping" from the extended drop down menu. You can then search within Googlebase itself.

If you go to google shopping and type in your website url in the search bar at the top it should bring up all your products so you can check that they are there

If you login to your google merchant account you will see your account id number at the top, enter this number to the end of this url (replacing the stars) - http://www.google.com/shopping?authorid=************

You will see all your products listed on google shopping

    Hi Les,
    Thanks for your reply.

I tried your suggestion but without any success.
I logged into my Google Merchant Centre Dashboard and think I have spotted the problem.
The 2 graphs, the top one being product search, it shows in red for 90 products.
In the lower graph, for product ads. it shows 90 in green.
Not sure how to fix this?
    Best regards,
    Col

There are 3 things things you need to get onto google shopping - google category, brand and either an MPN or a barcode - do you have these entered for your products?

I have checked a few products and they have that info, so I'm really not sure how to resolve this.

One other thing - has your google merchant account ever been used previously for uploading marketplace products such as ebay or etsy? That can cause problems.

If not then I've come to the end of my suggestions of problems I've had in the past but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to help you out :-)

If you want to PM the CSV file I'll have a look for you.

    1. When you look at your Products in your Merchant Centre Admin (using Webmaster Tools) does it say "searchable" against your products?
    2. Have you verified your website for Googlebase?

    Hi RD,

When I look at the list of my products in the Merchant Centre under the column heading "Product Search" There are red warning circles with a line through, for all products. In the next column "Product Ads" there is a green tick against all products. Is that what you meant?

    Hi Col

Each product should have a green tick in the "Product Search" column and if you hover your mouse over the green tick it should say "Searchable". If it says anything other than a green tick then your products are not showing in Googlebase.

Look in "Data Feeds" and see what the "Status" is. It should say "x" number inserted - are there any errors? Any warnings?

Are all your products 'in stock'? If any are out of stock then they won't be searchable

    All products are in stock.
All products have a red circle with a line through in the 'Product Search' column. When I hover the mouse over it says "Product Search: Disapproved or invalid"

It can take up to 24 hours for Google to approve products, although I think it says 'pending' rather than Disapproved or Invalid. As I said in my previous post, happy to have a look if you want to PM the CSV file (or even a couple of lines from it). Greg

Are there any trade marks in the descriptions that are disapproved?
