Hi everyone

Not sure if this can be done using the discount facility - Cant get my head around how to set it up!

I want to give a free votive holder with every 6 votive candles purchased

How do I go about setting this up on BP? Any help would, as always be appreciated

Discount Properties tab

Style : Buy all in set for discount

Threshold Type : Unit

Discount Type: Value

Free Product SKU: Select the free gift product here - votive holder

Thresholds tab

From Units: 6

Value : Leave as zero

Products tab

Select product : votive candles

That's it !

All gone as explained , except The threshold "from Units" is set to 1 and I cant seem to change it to 6

No doubt Im missing something really obvious! :-)

hmm, wont let me assign the products (Yankee Candle Samplers) either in the products tab :-(

Hi Terry,

Try setting it up as 'Create Qualifying Thresholds' instead with everything else as RD said and I think that should work.

Thank you Lisa and RD that works..to a point. However, how can I make it add a second, and a third free votive holder, if people buy 12, or 18 samplers. At the moment, as long as they buy 6 or more, it allocates a free votive holder. I would like it to add the votive holder for every 6 bought

That's why I suggested "Buy all in set for discount" because in the past Richard suggested that method for me for the same reason and it does work (for a single unit at least). Perhaps drop Richard an email, Terry.

Not tried it but -

- Void the last threshold on the discount after 6
- Set up bundle for 2 holders
- Copy discount - set threshold to 12 then offer bundle as free product

See if works. If so you can do for each discount layer.

There is now an easy way to do this. Use the discount style: "Buy X of these for £Y". If you set Y to zero, then there will be no discount given.

You can still assign a free product SKU, and this will be multiplied by the number of "sets" of the X quantity purchased.
