Hi Steve,
We have asked this before and I am pretty sure it is not currently possible to display both as much as we would like to!

Strictly speaking, if you sell to predominantly retail its a legal requirement to show Vat inclusive, the easiest way is to make Ex Vat prices available to logged in trade customers, can't remember how by I'm sure its simple

Hi
Does anybody know how to do what John has suggested?
No idea but I would like to find out as well. I made a mistake by giving trade customers a discount and ticked the "No VAT" box in the discount manager which didn't charge my trade customers VAT. I thought it would apply the relevant discount to the net price. What a mistake.
Well I have looked and looked, and I can't see how this is possible. The VAT display setting seems global regardless of being logged in or not?
The nearest I have got so far is to put the price without VAT in an option or attribute and just display this to logged in Trade customers, but this means loads of work and doesn't display the vat free price on the catalogue view - unless somebody can tell me otherwise?
can you not make a discount called NO VAT which takes 15% off the price - then assign that discount to your trade customers via the customer editor?
In many of my competitors sites there is a button or text link to allow the user to switch between Inc. VAT and Ex VAT.
I think this would be a good addition and may solve everyones problem if Rich can implement it.

Hi David.
Yes, I can but then the product is discounted by 15%. I don't want to discount the product, just show the price without VAT.
I'm sorry, that's not correct. If you create a discount with the "No VAT" flag set, the products it applies to have VAT removed. This is akin to dividing by 1.15, not multiplying by 0.85.
If your trade customers have a "No VAT" discount assigned to their account, they will see your prices exclusive of VAT throughout the site. I have just tested that this is the case.
