    Default Resize Product Image Cells

Hi, I'm new. Still in the free trial seeing if I want to commit to Bluepark or not.
I have to say it is one of the best eCommerce solutions I've tried out. Everything seems to be fine except I need help with one thing. I cant for the life of me find the answer...

When the products of a category appear on screen, they are in boxes/cells, which is fine. But the boxes themselves are so large and I cannot figure out how to resize them.
I know how to alter the lines of them (dotted, solid etc) and I can make the thumbnail image within the box smaller but that's not what I need to do. Obviously, with a smaller product box I would need to rezise the thumbnail but that's easy. It's the just the product boxes that I can't figure out. I need them smaller.

If possible, I would like them to look something like this -- http://www.fancydressball.co.uk/ladi...ancy-dress.htm

If it invloves a custom html code, please be gentle with me; I only have a very basic basic basic knowledge of it :/

    Thank you for any help!

Do you need them smaller so that you can have more columns on a page? If so, I think the boxes automatically resize themselves depending on your choice on the number of columns of products you display.

    Site:Config:Catalogue:Product List Columns

I have our's set to 1 so our product box stretches right across, if you have more then they will shrink down in size.

    Sort of.

The boxes for the category pages look like this, which is what I would like the products layout to look like - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/categoryq.png/

But they always look like this - http://tinypic.com/r/x2v51t/5 If I add more columns, it just stretches the page.

I'm starting to think it could be an image issue as the images I use for the category page are much much smaller than the product images. Although when I alter the product image sizes, the boxes stay the same large size. It doesn't make sense. I'm probably missing something very simple.

Going to have a play around to see if I can fix it.

In Config>Catalogue, if I untick the 'Display Product List Thumbnails' box, the product boxes become much smaller, obviously because it's not displaying an image.
But no matter how I resize the actual product image, the boxes will always be extremely large and the image will be whatever size I've made it

The site is a work in progress and I'm really picky about people seeing it until it's done.

But this is a screenshot of the product page -
    http://tinypic.com/r/n71u2e/5

I've made the thumbnail image for the middle product smaller but as you can see, the product box is slightly thinner but they are all still the same height. I have no idea how to make the boxes smaller as altering the image within doesn't do anything. Neither does changing the dimensions of the site itself.

I suspect you are using the category page layout for this page. If so, go to Site>Layout Manager and have a look at what number the 'Product List Columns' field is set to. I suspect it is set to 3 so you will need to set it to 5 to make sure you have 5 products appear across the page.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry to be a pain, but that didn't work. The 'Product List Columns' field was set to 3 so I changed it to 5, but all it did was stretch the screen size when putting more items in the row. The size of the actual red product boxes are the same size and are very large.

I've searched the forum and I can't find anybody who has had this problem so it must be something I'm not doing :/

I notice in your attached image above that the product images are different sizes. You need to make sure they are suitable sizes for thumbnails and if some are really large then it will push the area out. Think about the area the products are fitting in to, so for instance if your product listing area is 600px wide and you have 5 product columns then your thumbnails shouldn't be any bigger than 120px wide, assuming there is no padding on any of this area. If you do have any padding the thumbnail images will need to be smaller.
Try resizing all of the thumbnail images to the same smaller width and height for consistency and this should mean that the site won't stretch across the page.

Thank you so much, that worked perfectly. If one of the product thumbnails is too bid, it will change the size of the boxes for all the products. So now I know to make the thumbnail smaller in each listing.
I can't believe I didn't think of that, I'm usually good at figuring these things out.

    Thank you again
