    Default Failed Searches

    Hi,
I hope this has not been covered before. I am looking for a way to record the failed searches ie the ones that the customer does on the site that returns no results , which will give us an idea of the products that they are looking for that we do not stock.

    Many Thanks

    Steve

I thought it was possible to do this by going from the Home Page to Users > Site Statistics > Top Site Searches

However, on closer inspection, this only shows the top 50 searches, I would love this to be either expandable, or exportable, so that we can see all of the site searches.

That's quite interesting, several of mine show searches for miss spelled products which I do sell with the correct spelling.

Will have to jiggle with my product descriptions, nothing I can see stands out
as a product i would consider adding,
Will say when i had a site with different provider we used to get an email come through of site searches, problem was it was every search, was awful so i switched the function off, maybe there would be a way of filtering them to check through when time was spare, dont know.

Thanks for the replies , yes it does list the incorrect searches ,if i put lots of the same incorrect searches it will get on the Top Site Searches list with the number of results as 0. So really we just need a Top 50 Failed searches column perhaps.

I think making every search that is entered exportable would be better in the long term.

That way if you have more than 50 different search terms that return 0 results, for example, you could view them all.

Or you could even sort the searches to see search terms that are very popular, but only return little results on your website. Allowing us to see what customers are searching for but we do not offer much variety in.

I'd really welcome the ability to record all site searches & export them, also, BP Site Search isn't compatible with Google Analytics I believe? So at the moment there is very little options when it comes to Site Searches on BP websites, which is a shame.
