I'd find it really useful to be able to add a note in Product Manager to certain products.
I'd use this to remind myself that once stock has gone it is to be discontinued as I keep forgetting which products this applies to!

If you mark the item as discontinued using the tick-box in the main product manager screen, and then click the Green Flag, it will turn orange, & then it's hard to miss when you come back to the product manager?

This is not for discontinued items - the note is to remind me that they will be discontinued in the future once present stock has run out.

Isn't that exactly the same thing? I use the orange flags to remind myself that those lines are not being restocked once it's all gone.

Oh right I hadn't understood the orange flag! - I thought it removed product from being searchable as it was discontinued.
So the orange flag is purely for us to see as a reminder?

Yes, if you have the "low stock" warning viewable to customers they may also see "x in stock, no more available" when stock is low.

And when there is no stock the customer will see "No stock, discontinued product" on the product page.

But both of these can be changed/removed in the language manager

Thank you both - seems I don't need to ask for a new feature as it's already there I'll go and orange flag some things now.
