    Default Can we remove Allow Contact tickbox?

    As I don't use the built in newsletter function, I'd like to simplify things for GDPR and only maintain the one marketing database (third party) so is it possible to remove the Allow Contact section from new account signups and the checkout? My eyes are glazing now after so long looking through all of the set-up options....

    I'd like to replace it with a message to offer people the link to go to to sign up to the newsletter elsewhere with all of the legal phrases required on that signup page.

    Hi,

    Try this - navigate to: Template Editor> Site> Additional CSS (developers):

    and add the following code:

    Code:
    input#contact {
    display: none;
    }
    This should remove the check-box, so now just replace the text with whatever you want (If this doesn't work-out how you want, simply remove the line of code again).

    Thanks Mikey, that worked brilliantly.

    I then modified the language text for that field to use my Mailchimp signup link a la:
    Code:
    <a href="http://eepurl.com/xxxx">Sign up for our newsletter</a></li>
